Back in March 2009, in the middle of an economic slowdown that affected businesses operations worldwide, Mr. Hasmit Popat, President and CEO of Hascor International Group., decided that the best way to “surf” the crisis was by investing in enlarging our production facilities, including setting up an entirely new, state- of- the art Powder Production Facility in Istanbul, Turkey.
The news came as an incredible and exciting surprise to the Group worldwide; none of Hascor’s team members were expecting such a dynamic Plan B.
Opening a plant in Turkey allowed Hascor to focus its entire attention on the project, as there was enough time and incentive for the team to work on it, and at the same time, once the facility was up and running, it allowed Hascor to add 4000-5000 tons extra yearly capacity to Hascor’s already significant world capacity in powdered metals production.
Hascor Turkey became a reality in January 2010, with shipments to Europe and North Africa, which had been previously served by the plants in Mexico.
Having a production facility in such a booming economy and excellent location as that of Turkey has provided Hascor with a significant marketing and service edge. Additionally, operating different facilities worldwide endows Hascor with a natural contingency problem in case of Force Majeure at any given location and as such, provides Hascor’s customers the product quality and delivery assurance they require and deserve.
Hascor Turkey focuses on the production of Manganese Ferro Alloys; however, other materials such as FeSi45% are also produced at the site. Ferro Chrome lines are also being installed to meet the local demand.
Furthermore, the storage facilities available in Turkey, allow Hascor to offer a One-Stop-Shopping concept that has successfully helped the company provide its customers greater service flexibility and efficiency and simultaneously helped Hascor increase its market share worldwide.
Hascor´s team of experts continues to work on adding more Ferro Alloy powders to the broad pallet of products that Hascor Turkey can deliver its growing customer base.
“Hascor Bush”
Houston, Texas – USA
Early in January 2010, shortly after resuming activities in USA, Mr. Hasmit Popat, President & CEO of Hascor International Group, also announced the opening of the new Production Plant in Houston, Texas, and only 4 months after the announcement the first order of HCFeCr 9% was produced at “Hascor Bush”.
Hascor Bush specializes in the production of HCFeCr and Cr Metal. Among the grades available in Houston: 5-7% Carbon, 8% in Carbon and 9% min Carbon content. It’s worth noting that the 9% product currently supplied to our customers in USA, Canada and overseas is guaranteed to be higher than 9% Real Carbon content and not simply a blend of free carbon.
Hascor Bush is working on adding more production capability to our U.S. production lines with the ultimate intention of integrating the One-Stop-Shopping concept that the Group offers worldwide.
Hascor North America
Hascor has been present in North America for over 13 years; supplying Prime Quality Nitrogen Ferro Alloys for the production of a variety of Steel Grades, from the plant located in Tamos, Mexico.
Later in 1999, Hascor opened its own Sales and Service office in San Antonio, Texas, with the intention of creating a base for Administrative, Sales and Service affairs.
Over the past 6 years Hascor has integrated a wide range of different Ferro Alloy Powders, produced in Mexico, to the sales efforts in North America; increasing its market share year after year.
The need for extra production capacity, a more convenient location from which to supply North America, and the perceived need for producing Hascor materials in the USA where Hascor enjoys a strong and growing customer interest in it’s products and capabilities, were strong reasons behind establishing “Hascor Bush” in Texas. In doing so, not only did Hascor insure the expantion of its capacity and solidification of its growing market share, but it also created some of the much needed jobs that America seeks.
